FAQs

Lipoedema is a chronic medical condition that primarily affects women, causing painful, disproportionate fat accumulation—typically in the legs, hips, buttocks, and sometimes the arms. It’s often misdiagnosed or dismissed, but it is a real condition with physical and emotional impact.

We are Brisbane’s first and only centre solely dedicated to the care of women living with lipoedema. Founded by a woman with lipoedema, our centre is built on understanding, lived experience, and a compassionate, non-judgmental approach. Here, women are heard, respected, and supported.

No referral is required. You can contact us directly to book a consultation. However, if you have one from your GP or specialist, it may help us tailor your care more effectively.

Some services may be partially covered depending on your individual health cover or care plan. We are happy to help you navigate your options and offer affordable care to make support more accessible.

We understand that living with lipoedema can affect mental health and self-esteem. We provide compassionate care, peer support groups, and referrals to mental health professionals when needed. Empowerment, education, and community are central to our approach.

Lipoedema is a chronic condition, but its symptoms can be managed effectively with the right support. While there is no known cure, conservative treatments can greatly improve pain, mobility, and quality of life. We focus on helping each woman reclaim control and confidence.
